Airlines, Operators, and Engineers Convene at Inaugural SAIM User Conference

SAIM’s inaugural CONNECT conference in Las Vegas united industry leaders to explore data-driven fuel management, showcase platform benefits, and highlight expansion to 25 airports by year’s end.

2022 SAIM CONNECT USER CONFERENCE TAKES PLACE IN LAS VEGAS

Stakeholders talk about the future of the industry and setting a new operational standard for Smart Asset Integrity Management as SAIM is set to be deployed at 25 airports by the end of this year.

After a two-year pilot at Oakland International Airport and Las Vegas International Airport, SAIM is now live at 10 commercial airports, with 15 others set to deploy across the country in the next several months. All stakeholders involved with SAIM were invited to attend the inaugural SAIM Connect User Conference from April 11-13 in Las Vegas. The goal was to bring together a network of industry professionals who all have one common goal: embracing the power of data to inform the business of fuel.

“The airline representatives, operators and engineers involved in the initial rollout of SAIM are true pioneers in the digital transformation of fuel system management,” said Chris Straub, General Manager, SAIM, LLC. “The SAIM platform was built for the airlines and with the airlines, addressing decades-old pain points with digital solutions. It’s exciting to see it all come to life and to feel the enthusiasm from everyone involved while we were together in Vegas.”

The two-day event included several small and large group discussions to help explain the origin and industry need for SAIM, its benefits, and how to get the most out of its Maintenance, Monitoring and As-Built capabilities. Most importantly, the conference was split into three different tracks: deployed users, non-deployed users and airline users. These customized tracks allowed SAIM team members to show how the cloud-based platform helps each stakeholder group in their unique day-to-day roles.

“Allowing us to have an open forum and voice our opinion on the product was very encourage,” said Amanda Flores, General Manager of the New Orleans International Airport Fuel Farm. “SAIM will take asset management into the future.”

Throughout the conference, attendees were encouraged to do these four things:

  • Embrace their opportunity to lead the industry.
  • Bring their open minds and ideas to the table.
  • Engage with each other during the business sessions.
  • Be ready to take their learnings back to their own teams.
“We wanted attendees to walk away feeling confident about embracing digital operations tools and proud that they get to help lead the industry as we define new operational standards for managing fuel infrastructure,” said Tina Lux-Boim, President, SAIM, LLC.

The event concluded with a hands-on experience of SAIM at the LASFuel tank farm at Oakland International Airport. It included a demonstration of the handheld app that allows for wireless and paperless operator rounds.

SAIM team leaders welcome SAIM Connect Conference attendees to LAS Fuels Tank Farm for demonstrations of the SAIM Tank Farm Manager module, Real-Time Signals module, and the SAIM Inspect app for handheld devices.
