SAIM Team Snapshot: Liam Frank

As a Junior Data Scientist at SAIM's Overland Park, Kansas, headquarters, Liam enjoys the company's collaborative culture and working in the world of predictive maintenance.

How would you describe the culture of working for SAIM?

The culture is centered around a small, collaborative team where everyone values each person’s individual talents, expertise, and perspectives.

Tell us about your educational background or career experience leading up to your position with SAIM.

Prior to starting at SAIM in January, I had an internship with SAIM in the summer of 2024 where I gained valuable experience in the world of predictive maintenance. I worked on various projects, including forecasting filter change-out. After graduating in December with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Data Science, I couldn’t wait to return to SAIM while I pursue a master’s degree in Data Science.

What element of the SAIM digital platform has you most excited?

I’m most excited about the future developments and evolution of predictive maintenance. Currently, we collect, store, aggregate, and display vast amounts of data from a range of assets in our facilities, including pumps and filter vessels. I’m excited to be involved in the innovation that comes along with unlocking the full potential of this data by leveraging AI and Machine Learning to drive predictive maintenance and enhance operational efficiencies across our sites.

What drew you to wanting to begin your position with SAIM?

I was initially drawn to SAIM because of the industry we operate in and the unique opportunities a smaller company offers within the SaaS space. It allows me to be continuously involved in a variety of projects across different stages of the data lifecycle.

How do you define success?

Success is not defined by where you are currently, but rather by how far you come and how much you have learned along the way.

Where can you be found when you’re not at work?

Outside of the office, I enjoy frequent traveling, staying active, and all things outdoors including golf and skiing.
